By now, a few of you may have heard of my band Days of Light Gravity. We started recording a full length album this summer before we even had a band name. Now the album is in the process of getting mixed.
In one summer, we recorded a full-length album, played our first show in San Diego at the Che Cafe, played two shows in Arizona, put out a split cassette from Rubber Brother Records with our friends in the band Sundressed, and raised $1040 with an IndieGoGo campaign to mix our album.
Back when I first cold emailed Mike Sapone to ask if he’d mix our album, I carefully avoided talking about our band name since we didn’t even have on at that point. This band is lucky to have had help from such kind, talented people.
Our proceeds from the IndieGoGo campaign will cover half of the mixing costs for the album. Pool Party Records, Will and Rob’s production company, will be mixing the other half. Don C. Tyler will be mastering everything… he’s the man.
On Jan 30th, Days of Light Gravity will be opening for one of the bands that inspired this whole project - The Menzingers. If you haven’t heard of them, go listen to their music… and our music… and come to the show. Ah, do what you want!
Thanks everyone for the support!
